big idea reflection

I think my sharing session went well because I came back from Queensland. But I went well. I didn’t finish my test I made but it went well.

what went well was my info on ahn do and khoa do.

what we could improve on next time is maybe not going on a holiday when my big idea has to be done.

The most interesting thing I learnt was that ahn do stared in several of khoa do films.

I used my investigating time very well before I went to Queensland.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

I went to a presentation about AFL racism.

the most interesting part was that one of the players was black and getting abused and that.

I liked it because it was planed out and they new what they were talking about.

some I might use next time is using Prezzies.

My Story, Our Story.

This is a extract from the diary of William Brown Fox, My great, great, great, great grandfathers voyage from Gernsey, UK, written in about 1854. William was born probably in the 1820s. He sailed from the UK to Australia. He travelled in a sailing vessel with his Wife and his 4 sons and 1 daughter. The next paragraph explains one of the days on the voyage.

Monday the 16th of may 1854. Calm, Caught a dolphin and had some sausages with it, had some shark for breakfast. The breeze had freshened at 10:00 and we had a 9 knot breeze, just the breeze for sailing by the sun. All hands alive today, and although the grub  has not suffered much there begins to be a shin it.

Text To Analysis

Text To Self

H0w I feel about this song” I don’t wanna be here anymore” by rise against was sadness in the music video because at the start they interviewed a little girl talking about what she has been through and more stuff like that that. In the song it says” I know there’s nothing worth saying for” It is saying theres nothing to say anymore to help them but I think that’s wrong. There is always something to say and we can still do something about it. The band because  there saying something about it to help.

Text To Text

Im going to compare two songs  by rise against against called ” I don’t wanna be here any more” and “prayer of the refugee” these two songs can be related because one there from the same band and two they are both about refugees and they give the same reasons but say them in different ways. In the song “pryer of the refugee” it says ” i don’t need your help now” and in the other song it says ” you see i don’t think i can fight this any more” these two lines are saying that they don’t need your help any more and the other one is saying i think im going to give up b ut i think there is always hope.

Text to World

How this relates to the world is on the music video it has lots of scenes that say what is going happening around the world right now. On the news lots of wars are happening. The band i’sent just talking about the refugees it is also talling about the soldier who go into war. They risk there lives to save or protect the refugees and us. So the world should be helping the injured soldiers and it should be the same with the refugees. The whole world can do something to help the army and mostly the refugees. Also on the news i saw that people shoot two people in the city because of where they came from and what they looked like.

The rainbow serpent

Once there was a giant snake called the rainbow serpent that made mountains as it move. Soon he needed to sleep he went and feel asleep at a camp, then two little boys came and the rainbow serpent said “come into my mouth and sleep” they went in. In the morning the other people realised the two boys were gone. They went looking for them soon they found the rainbow serpent sleeping. They cut open his stomach and two birds flew out they had been turned into birds. It then woke up and saw his stomach and chased the people and turned them into trees and animals. So now we need to look after them because they are us.

I think is a good story/myth and it’s like there’s a moral to the story when it says that the rainbow serpent turned them into trees and animals so it’s like that’s why we have to take care of them. But overall it’s a good story.

The genesis  story

In the beginning there was no earth or sky or sea or animals.  And then God spoke in the darkness:  “Let there be light!”  And right away there was light, scattering the darkness and showing the infinite space.  “That’s good!” said God.  “From now on, when it’s dark it will be ‘night” and when it’s light, it will be ‘day’.”The evening came and the night passed and then the light returned.  That was the first day.On the second day, God made the earth and over it He carefully hung a vast blue sky.  He stood back and admired His creation.  “That’s good too!” said God and the second day was over. The next morning God looked around and thought, “the earth needs to be a bit more organized.”  So, He put all the water in one place and all the dry land in another.  When He had finished that, God made plants to cover the land.  Dandelions and daffodils appeared.  All sorts of trees and grasses began to grow.  “It’s looking great”, said God and that was the end of the third day. On the fourth day, God looked around and thought, “the daylight still needs a bit more work and the night is just too dark.”  So, He made the sun to light the sky during the day and the moon and stars to add a bit of sparkle to the night.  He hung them in the sky and stepped back to look at his work.  “This is coming along very well,”said God. The next day, God turned his attention to the water he had collected in the oceans.  “I want these waters teeming with life!”  As soon as He said it, it was so.  In no time, there were millions of small fish darting through the shallow water and huge fish swimming in the ocean.  God made birds, too.  He sent them soaring through the air.  “Ahh, that is good!, “said God.  The dusk fell over the water and the sky grew dark and that was the end of the fifth day. On the sixth day, God added creatures to the land. He created everything from ants to zebras to the land.  But He still felt something was missing.  So God added Adam and Eve to enjoy and take care of all that He had created.  God looked around and was happy with all He had made. After six days, the whole universe was completed.  On the seventh day God had a nice long rest and enjoyed looking at all He had made.

This was a good story/myth I liked how god made something new every day and named it. I also liked how he took his time for each thing he made and that’s what makes our world earth so good. This is one of my favourite story.

Snapshot Writing

We had snapshot writing and here are mine.

1: Comic-Con

The gathering was loud with laughter as raw and new as the cheers from a grand final. The convention had a rich smell of latex and rubber, the same smell of a new car sellout. It looked like a massive Halloween party with props and costumes. Henry and I enjoyed the   cosplay as it gave sweet childhood memories. The smiles on everyone was unnaturally healthy and made me feel like I was at home.

2: The Movies

I walked throw the doors with the wind howling and the hot warm smell of the food at the food court. We went and got our tickets and sat down. I heard laughter of the people at the movies from the funny movie. I saw everyone hooked to the screen like robots. I tasted the fizzy drinks and the salty buttery popcorn.

3: The pool

We parked our car in front of the pool and walked in side and smelt the chlorine and heard the laughter. I got into my swimming gear and ran strait to the water slides. I waited in line and tasted the hot jam donut from the food court. I walked up the stairs and it felt like I was in Antarctica that how cold it was.

Fruits and gifts of the holy spirit

1813 The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. The moral life of Christians is sustained by the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Wisdom is the gift of knowing the right choices to make to live a holy life.

The gift of right judgment helps you make choices to live as a faithful follower of Jesus.

The gift of courage helps you overcome any obstacles that would keep you from practicing your faith.

The 12 fruits of the Holy Spirit are signs that the Holy Spirit is alive within us and helping us live the Catholic faith in our daily lives.

Chastity: We live the virtue of chastity when we use the gift of sexuality wisely, according to God’s plan.

The gift of wisdom helps you to avoid the things that could lead you away from God.

The gift of understanding helps you be tolerant and sympathetic of others.

Courage, or Fortitude, is the gift that helps you stand up for your faith in Christ.

The gift of wonder and awe moves you to so love God that you do not want to offend him by your words or actions.

This gift of reverence inspires you to joyfully want to serve God and others.

Saint George shows Courage, Knowledge and judgment.

Saint George travelled to Libya. When he arrived there he found it had a large pond, almost as big as a lake, where a ferocious dragon lived. The dragon was terrorising the country and, every day, the people had been feeding the dragon a sheep to appease it.

left. Unless a knight could be found to slay the dragon, the princess would be sacrificed the next day. The King of Egypt had promised his daughter’s hand in marriage to the knight who could overcome the terrible dragon.
Saint George was determined to save the princess, and the next day he rode out to the lake. When he arrived, he found the princess there, waiting to be fed to the dragon. Saint George sent her home to the palace and approached the dragon’s cave.
When the dragon heard Saint George’s horse approaching, he came out of his cave and roared at him. The dragon was huge and its roar sounded like thunder, but Saint George was not afraid. He struck the monster with his spear, but the dragon’s scales were so hard that the spear simply broke into pieces.

R.E Reflection

Baptism:
When you are baptised they drop you in a lake or pond, but in the church they usually poor water over your head.
Reconciliation:
It is asking god to forgive our sins. Celebrated usually as a child. Confess there sins in front of people in the
olden days. Smaller sins where forgiven by prayers. They had to wear the plain cloths and eat plain food after they confess there sins in front of the community.
Eucharist:
It is when you get the bread and wine. Wine represents Jesus blood and the bread represents his body.
Eucharist is a sacrament of sacrifice. Eucharist starts with the last supper when Jesus died.
Marriage:
In a relationship a commitment is a challenging task. But to surrender one self to the intimacy and the constant day
today demands of marriage life is one of the greatest opportunities fulfilment and growth that a person can face.
